Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai Has Voice Selection Feature

Various costumes for Miku, Rin, Luka, and MEIKO

Various costumes for Miku, Rin, Luka, and MEIKO

The upcoming Vocaloid Nendoroid-themed game for 3DS, Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai, has been given an official title by SEGA: Hatsune Miku and Future Stars: Project Mirai. It is not a mere title change though, as SEGA also intends to differentiate between this game and the PSP-bound Hatsune Miku: Project Diva series.

Should you choose one or more Vocaloid for a song in Project Diva, he/she/they would only dance for the music, but the song remains to be sung by Hatsune Miku. In the case of Project Mirai, you may choose which Vocaloid to sing certain songs. Whoa … isn’t it nice to listen to Rin, Luka, and MEIKO’s voices there? XD

Anyway, there are six songs that have been announced to appear in Project Mirai:

  • Tricolor Airline (Atsuzou-kun) – has voice selection feature
  • Daughter of Evil (Mothy)
  • LOL -Lots of Laugh- (Ken and Endcape)
  • Watashi no Jikan (Kuchibasi)
  • PIANO*GIRL (OSTER Project)
  • Sing and Smile (Re:nG)

Did you know that Project Mirai also have augmented reality (AR) features? Yes, you could take pictures of AR concerts being performed by Hatsune Miku on your desk. Awesome! XD

Anyway, Hatsune Miku and Future Stars: Project Mirai is scheduled for release on March 8, 2012 in Japan – one day prior to Miku Day on March 9 (3/9). Don’t forget that the limited edition of this game will also include a Nendoroid Petit Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai version. ^^

Anyway … do you notice that her hair color in the product photos looks similar to Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Absolute HMO Edition? For some reason, the hair color looks different compared to Mikatan’s preview yesterday. Any thought? XD

Correction for Nendoroid Mikumix Miku Pre-Order Date

Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Mikumix version

Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Mikumix version

GSC has just posted an apology and correction regarding pre-order date for Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Mikumix version posted in the latest issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine, which was published yesterday.

Apparently there is a typo there mentioning that Nendoroid Mikumix will be available for pre-order starting October 25, 2011, whereas the correct one is November 25, 2011. Yep, it seems the reservation for this eccentric Miku will be available on Friday, next week. It is still unclear whether she will be a limited, exclusive, or normal run. ^^

Note: The actual English name for this version of Nendoroid Hatsune Miku is still unknown. It reads “Shūkan hajimete no Hatsune Miku” in Japanese, that literally translates into “Hatsune Miku: First Weekly version“. However, I think that the term “Mikumix” is more frequently used to describe this version of Miku, hence it is used in the posts.

Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Mikumix version

GSC was doing a live NicoNico broadcast earlier, and as usual, they were displaying some of their upcoming products, including Nendoroid. First up is Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Mikumix version (tentative name), which has been spotted previously, albeit this time they show it in 360-degrees of viewing angle. XD

Nendoroid Morishima Haruka

Whoa … Nendoroid Morishima Haruka from Amagami S.S made a surprising appearance on the broadcast. This time, she was shown in full-color, unlike the last time we saw her a few months ago. No further info has been revealed yet, but I believe that her pre-order should be available soon and she should be scheduled for release around Spring 2012. ^^

Nendoroid Sakura Kyouko

Puella Magi Madoka Magica‘s Nendoroid Sakura Kyouko made a brief return on stage again, but this time you can see her from various angle. Unfortunately, no release info has been made yet. XD

Mikatan has just posted a photo of the upcoming new version of Nendoroid Hatsune Miku which is based on the 4-panel manga Mikumix and the famous PV Mukashi Mukashi no Kyou no Boku. Seeing that the master figure has been shown there, I guess the pre-order for this (exclusive?) Nendoroid should be available shortly.

Here is the accompanying tweet:
