Nendoroid Hatsune Miku - bootleg (left) and genuine (right)

By popular demand, we are going to start a new series of articles with the topic: Bootleg vs Genuine, where we will do a side-by-side comparison of bootleg and genuine version of a particular Nendoroid. ^^

For starter, we will compare bootleg and genuine version of Nendoroid Hatsune Miku., one of the most widespread bootleg Nendoroid. No, this is not the old/usual bootleg one in which you could easily recognize it simply by looking at her expression, as this pic show:

Genuine (left) vs bootleg/fake (right)

The one featured in this article is slightly different than the bootleg you see at the pic above. I guess it is a new bootleg variant of Nendoroid Hatsune Miku. (-_-“”)

Well then, let’s get into the comparison, shall we? ^^

Nendoroid 129: Hatsune Miku – Absolute HMO Edition

Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Absolute HMO Edition

Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Absolute HMO Edition

Before we get into the review, let’s see a little background info concerning where the term “HMO” came from. Firstly, HMO was initially used by a composer nicknamed “HMO tokanonakanohito“. He is a composer of Yellow Magic Orchestra (YMO), a leading Japanese electropop band. He released a music CD titled “Hatsune Miku Orchestra” with an illustration of Hatsune Miku (drawn by manga artist Kuu) at the jacket. Here’s how it looks like:

This version of Hatsune Miku design is gaining popularity in Miku fandom, so it is only natural for her to get a Nendoroid rendetion by GSC, officially titled: Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Absolute HMO Edition. ^^

Now that you know (at least a little) about HMO, let’s dive directly into the review, shall we? ^^

Nendoroid Racing Miku Spotted with F1 Sauber’s Kobayashi Kamui

Kobayashi Kamui with Nendoroid Racing Miku: 2011 version

Kobayashi Kamui with Nendoroid Racing Miku: 2011 version

Nendoroid Racing Miku: 2011 version is spotted to be having travelled together with Kobayashi Kamui, a popular Japanese Formula-1 racer. Yes, you can see the picture of them above, taken at Team Sauber‘s garage. Apparently, the cute Nendoroid caught a lot of attention there, as one of Team Sauber’s staff took a pic with her as well (photo after the break).

Well, I guess Good Smile Racing (GSR) is one of Kamui’s sponsor (or possibly the whole Team Sauber’s sponsor as well?), so it is only natural for him to have gotten hold of the GSR mascot for 2011. Takanori Aki (GSC president) was spotted to be visitting Kamui there as well.

Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Support version

Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Support version

The saga of Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Support version is finally over in good ending, as GSC has finally included both Indonesia and HongKong into their Shippable Country list (which is previously unavailable for some reason) and resolved the credit card transaction problems, so they can now start accepting order again.

Here is what they said:

<< Can accept orders now! >> Goodsmile.ecq.sc can now accept new orders, recovered from Credit Card transaction problems. Thank you for your cooperation.

I have secured my pre-order for the cute cheerleader. What about you, Nendonesian? ^^

Miku Support Saga: Indonesia is Available; Credit Card Transaction Error

Indonesia is available in the shippable country list

Indonesia is available in the shippable country list

Rejoice, Nendonesian! Indonesia is finally available in the Shippable Country list at Good Smile Online Shop (my eyes is full of tears now). Thanks for all of your support, Nendonesian! ( ╥ ﹏╥)

So … does that mean that we can start to order Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Support version to be shipped to Indonesia!? Well … sadly, no, not yet, because it seems that GSC is currently having some credit card transaction problems that made them to suspend incoming orders temporarily.

At least they have decided to include Indonesia in the list, so we can make our order later, as soon as the credit card issue is resolved. ^^

What do you think, Nendonesian?

Nendoroid Racing Miku: 2011 version Previewed by Mikatan

Nendoroid Racing Miku: 2011 version

Nendoroid Racing Miku: 2011 version

After getting all the hype and buzz last week, Nendoroid Racing Miku: 2011 version finally arrived at Mikatan’s office to get the preview photo session treatment. Apparently, the Racing Miku will bring along some interesting optional parts, such as closed and opened parasols, a NendoroCar (that’s what Mikatan called it ^^), a second “embarrassed” expression (kinda tsundere-like, reminds me of Kirino’s), as well as some optional body parts.

Anyway, kindly visit Mikatan’s blog for further details and more pics of the adorable Racing Miku. ^^

Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Support version Prototype Spotted

Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Support version

Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Support version

Yes, the pic you are looking at above is supposedly a prototype of Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Support version. Well, previously I thought that they would have simply take the master figure for original Nendoroid Hatsune Miku and enhance it as necessary to be “Support version”. ^^

Anyway, a few more pics could be seen after the break:
