Who is Involved in a Nendoroid Release?

Note: The topic is originally asked by Lexis from nendOtaku, a Germany-based Nendoroid blog.

If you have been collecting Nendoroid for a while, then you might have noticed that some Nendoroid boxes have another logo(s) beside Good Smile Company (GSC). They can be Max Factory, Phat Company, FREEing, or any other companies’ logo. So … who are they? Isn’t GSC the only one who make Nendoroid?

Well, in order to answer that questions, I am going to write about the parties involved for a Nendoroid release. Note that the explanation is based on my own, personal view. Therefore, it might be inaccurate in some ways or the other, but it should, hopefully, give you a bit of insight into the matter. ^^

Are you ready? Let’s get started! XD

Nendoroid Info in Latest Hobby Magazine Scans (May 2012)

The magazine scan

The magazine scan

After Nendoroid Annelotte (Queen’s Blade Rebellion) went for pre-order last month, the usual “how will the 2P version look like?” thought crossed on my mind.

Thankfully, I don’t have to wait long, as Nendoroid Annelotte: Dark Knight version made her debut in this month’s Dengeki Hobby Magazine. Interestingly, she does not bear the 2P version remarks that have been the case with the previous alternative versions of Nendoroid from Queen’s Blade. XD

*ahem* I have to say that she looks really gorgeous with those red eyes, elven’s ears, and a glittering golden equipments. I’m totally sold, FREEing, good job! ^^

Anyway, it seems that she will be available as a limited and exclusive product, as usual, with a price of 3500 Yen. The evil-looking lady will be released sometimes this year.

Meanwhile, Phat Company‘s Nendoroid Gertrud Barkhorn from Strike Witches series gets another highlight in the magazine scan. This time, she brings along her Striker unit and shares a few new poses with us.

(Un)surprisingly, she is still uncolored, eventhough it is already more than a year since the first time we saw her. At least she got a release schedule, albeit a little vague: Autumn 2012. XD

Note: Oh, and while we’re at it, how are our Disgaea duo (Flonne and Etna) doing there, Phat-san? Hopefully you don’t plan to cancel abandon forget them, because some of us have been patiently waiting since you showed them to us last year. XD

Well then, what do you think about it, Nendonesian? ^^

(Thanks for the news tip, Jeff Teo!)

Rejoice, Strike Witches fans! Nendoroid Lynette Bishop has been officially released today. Yep, now you can pose her along with Nendoroid Miyafuji Yoshika and Fransesca Lucchini … or you can also wait for the upcoming Nendoroid Gertrud Backhorn and Erica Hartmann to further expand your Strike Witches Nendoroid army. ^^

Nendoroid Airi

Nendoroid Airi from Queen’s Blade is also seeing an official release by FREEing today in Japan. Yes, the scythe-wielding maid is ready to be shipped right onto your desk. ^^

Well, what do you think, Nendonesian?

Nendoroid Aldra in Color – Upcoming Queen’s Blade Nendoroid Revealed

Nendoroid Aldra

Nendoroid Aldra

Nendoroid Aldra‘s prototype was previously seen on a magazine scan a few months ago and now her colored version has been revealed thanks to the latest Japanese figure magazine scan. Her head design looks pretty unique – not to mention that her right eye is … something to be noticed. ^^

Unfortunately, no further info regarding her pricing and release date yet, but I guess FREEing would have it announced at the upcoming WonFes. My take: 3500 Yen price tag and scheduled for Q3 2011 release. ^^

More prototype Nendoroid from Queen’s Blade after the break.

Nendoroid Hinagiku Release Pushed Back, Tomoe Got Release Date

Nendoroid Katsura Hinagiku

Nendoroid Katsura Hinagiku

It seems like Good Smile Company Max Factory are having difficulties to meet the deadline for their Hayate no Gotoku Nendoroid releases. Nendoroid Katsura Hinagiku is their first Nendoroid to get her release delayed and I guess it will initiate a domino effect for Hayate and Nagi as well – hopefully it would not happen. Initially, Hinagiku-chan is scheduled to release on late November and now pushed back to December. ^^;

Meanwhile, Nendoroid Tomoe from FREEing will be released in-schedule as GSC has just posted a release date for her: November 15. Yes, that’s about a week from today so you’ll better prepare to complete your pre-order payment to have your latest Queen’s Blades Nendoroid ship as soon as possible. ^^
